~ German Village ~
Columbus, Ohio
Converted from a brick livery stable in 1886 to a meatpacking house and then later, a restaurant and beer garden. There are mostly German items on the menu, many created by the Schmidt family in the last five generations.
The restaurant has old-world decor with wood floors and brick walls.
Waitresses and waiters dressed in authentic costumes take your order,
Jack and I had the Reuben sandwich with a side of German potato salad…
EXCELLENT! We wish we had left room to share the “ half-pound cream puff ” on the menu above.
Those things were enormous!
Schmidt's has provided food for the Ohio State Fair for over 80 years.
If you live nearby...check it out!

Suzy - so glad to see you return to Mosaic Monday!!! Our son went to school in Columbus (Ohio State), and I know we have driven by Schmidt's many times. Looks like we should have gone in!
