"Night Sky" Petunia

The "Night Sky" Petunia is spotted!
My brother has a hanging basket of these in his yard...beautiful! I have never seen or heard of this one before.
This lovely new color pattern is not 100% stable. When we have hot days and cool nights, the color will be predominately white with a purple star pattern.

When both day and night temperatures are unusually high, the coloring may become almost solid purple. Very unique!

Taco Casserole

Everyone in our house loves any recipe with a Mexican flair! This dish is quick and easy to make...

Here's what you'll need:
1 pound of lean ground beef
1 can of refried beans
1 jar (16oz.) thick and chunky salsa
1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
4 med. green onions, sliced
2 med. tomatoes, chopped
1 cup shredded cheddar or Jack cheese
optional:
1/4 cup sliced black olives

Pre-heat oven to 350*. Cook beef over medium heat, stirring occasionally until browned; drain. Stir in refried beans, taco seasoning, and salsa. Reduce heat to medium. Let heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.
In ungreased 2- quart casserole, add beef then sprinkle with tomato, green bell pepper, onion, olives, and cheese.
Bake uncovered 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly and cheese is melted. Serves 5.

I served this on shredded lettuce with tortilla chips on the side.
