Words for life's journey
Any of you that are familiar with the Serenity Prayer realize just how powerful these three sentences are...
"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
We spend so much time trying to change our circumstances and other people.We are powerless over that which is not in our control...give it over to God.
courage to change the things I can,
We can work on ourselves and with God's help, become "a better you."
and the wisdom to know the difference."
Pray for wisdom in all situations!
This prayer can be applied to every part of our lives...work, friendships, family, finances...it can change your whole way of living!
*Serenity Prayer*
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
(Although known most widely in its abbreviated form above,
the entire prayer reads as follows...)
the entire prayer reads as follows...)
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
