Hot Sausage Dip

Last month at the church picnic I tried this dish and knew I had to have the recipe!

Hot Sausage Dip

1 pound ground hot sausage, cooked and drained
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 - 24 oz. jar mild chunky salsa
sliced black olives (optional)

Directions:
Cook the ground sausage thoroughly and drain. On medium low heat, add the softened cream cheese to the skillet and mix into the sausage until melted. Add the salsa. Continue mixing until well blended. Add olives, if desired. Simmer for 20 minutes to blend the flavors. Enjoy with you favorite tortilla chips.

* It's not overly hot because the cream cheese balances it out, and the sausage spices give it great flavor! This recipe could also be made in a slow cooker.
